bearblog question challenge

why did you make the blog in the first place?
When I stumbled upon Bear Blog, lurked around and read some posts, rather than an urge to speak to the void or share my stuff, I was just inspired seeing little bits of life lived by different people all around the world, which made me want to do it as well.
why did you choose bearblog?
Based on my answer on #1, I didn’t consider other options since it was the platform itself that inspired me to make my blog.
I did come to know of others and I stayed here because it is nice what Herman is doing with the product and I loved that my blogging experience is spared of unnecessary stuff that will probably just make me overthink a lot of things.
have you blogged on other platforms before?
No, I haven’t. I must say when I was younger I did not realize or understand what a blog is for. At some point I may have thought no one does it anymore, so I never got back on trying to understand it again until last year. I was so very wrong!
I did have Tumblr way back, but I don’t think that counts because I didn’t create or write anything of my own and just reblogged posts that I thought were cool (99% are images, I don’t think I knew about the existence of Pinterest at that time).
do you write your posts directly in the editor or in another software?
I use Google Docs and Obsidian. I put up with Google Docs because I can access it through both my phone and desktop, then Obsidian I just started exploring for posts that will involve a lot of links/markdown capabilities.
Previously...
- Notepad (Windows and my phone) - simple stuff! Stopped because some of my writings take up more time and I had to switch between devices, it was not flexible enough.
- I wrote by hand on my journal first then typed it on the editor.
when do you feel most inspired to write?
It is very random. It could be on my work break, when I wake or before bed, then sometimes I don’t technically wait for inspiration to come. If I have an idea for the next post and I have free time, I’ll do it.
do you publish immediately after writing or do you let it simmer a bit as a draft?
Definitely the latter. I feel the need to let it fester for a few hours or a day then reread it again, check if I still like it.
your favorite post on your blog?
My favorite post so far is from last November, titled just because.
It commemorates me and my girlfriend's anniversary. She reads my blog from time to time and I mention her a lot, I should probably make a tag. It is my favorite... just because.
any future plans for your blog? maybe a redesign, changing the tag system, etc.?
I plan to include tags in my next posts! Will also be doing a redesign for blockquotes, then a changelog or additional pages, after I figure out where I can put them.
