log #008: friday, finally
Today is my last Friday on the night shift for this month, entailing moments of celebration, a date night with r and going through a task that I would not otherwise be able to do on the day shift like claiming my diploma from university1. I feel that the world is welcoming me back and I have high hopes that time would not feel so slippery again.
I am happy that me and r got through this month because it was as if we had our own lil mercury retrograde phase going on. We're both working girls, now, and with her on the day shift schedule we only have 30-40 minutes in each other's physical presence whenever I have to come in to the office. She takes the train and a jeep and whenever she gets home a little earlier than expected, I just literally soar.
r wore a button up and I wore a casual fitted dress today (rare) for date night and it was just so unfortunate the coffee shop we wanted to go to didn't have wifi nor wall plugs. We decided to take out our orders then, and gave a listen to one of Taylor's new songs. r is a swiftie and said she is waiting for it to grown on her. Meanwhile, my take is that she has lost all the literary sense in which I admired her for in folklore and evermore.
Earlier today I also am thinking about how much I love listening to live music. NPR Tiny Desk, BBC 1, low-quality fan videos and the like. The last time I went to an actual concert, it was for One Direction when I was barely a teenager. I remember crying a lot2 and standing on a monobloc all night.
Artists I will buy tickets for if they ever visit my country:
- Hozier
- Lorde
- Lucy Dacus
- Chappell Roan
