snap #030: mother's day weekend
Spent the weekend with my family and we had lunch under a mango tree that has been there since I was a child. It provided ample shade as we set out a spread of sinampalukang manok (chicken sinigang...), buttered shrimp, and my favorite mussel dish. For dessert we had choco almond fudge ice cream and the ripest of mangoes.
The sweltering heat is forgotten, only there is good food and gossip and bingo. Also my cousin's birthday. I look at this village of people who raised me, my own mom and nuclear family, as I sit under that tree shade that also watched me grow and I felt right at home.
